The HEOR Field Director provides coverage and builds relationships with Managed Care, Payers, Societies, and other Medical Access Influencers.

This role involves field-based Health Economics & Outcomes Research (HEOR) activities, demonstrating knowledge of HEOR and all clinical and scientific data for Acadia products. The Director nurtures deep relationships with key experts and drives adoption of tools for safe and effective product use. They educate on disease and treatment while managing key customer accounts.

Works closely with reimbursement, managed market teams, Account Managers, and in-house HEOR team on strategies like database analysis and vendor proposals. Collaborates with TA Medical Science Liaisons and assists internal teams in interpreting scientific data for policy decision-makers. Manages scientific dialogue with Managed Care audience on clinical information and health outcomes research.

Prepares fair balanced responses to concerns of Population Health Decision makers including managed care and plan directors. Facilitates education on current and new therapies. Demonstrates experience in HEOR collaborations evidenced by publications and projects.

Requirements

  • PharmD, M.D., Ph.D, or other recognized doctorate level education with supporting applicable health science background
  • Additional advanced degree in epidemiology (MPH), economics (MBA) and/or health services highly desired
  • Minimum of 5 years of total successful previous related field medical or comparable experiences addressing scientific and clinical issues of policy in a Managed care, Market Access, Medicare or Medicaid-related role
  • Minimum of 4 years post professional degree practice or relevant transferable experience (clinical practice, academic research, regulatory/scientific)
  • Specialized training in HEOR such as Outcomes Research Fellowship preferred
  • Previous experience leading, designing, and managing HEOR collaborations with population health decision makers
  • Demonstrated experience and accomplishments as evidenced by history of HEOR related publications and projects

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with reimbursement and managed market teams to educate payer and market access community on disease and treatment
  • Work closely with Account Managers to ensure information needs of healthcare professionals and associated plans are met
  • Manage assigned Key Customer Accounts and customer interface of assigned National and Regional affiliate accounts
  • Manage ongoing scientific dialogue with Managed Care audience on clinical information, scientific discussions, and health outcomes research for Acadia therapies
  • Work with key customers, opinion leaders and assist internal collaborators and TA Medical Science Liaisons in interpretation of key scientific data
  • Prepare and deliver fair balanced and comprehensive responses to clinical and scientific concerns of Population Health Decision makers
  • Facilitate education and HEOR account related activities regarding current and new therapies
  • Collaborate with in-house HEOR team on HEOR strategies and related activities such as database analysis and vendor proposals
