About this role

As Vaccines Medical Director, lead the Vaccines Medical Affairs team at GSK Brazil with full accountability for defining and executing the medical strategy across a diverse vaccines portfolio, including adult and pediatric vaccines. This senior leadership role advances public health impact, expands access, and accelerates adult vaccination evolution in a complex healthcare environment. Vaccines play a fundamental role in disease prevention and population health.

Define and execute the Brazil Vaccines Medical Affairs strategy aligned with global priorities and local public health needs. Provide strategic medical leadership for public health and access pathways, engaging the National Immunization Program and HTA processes. Support private market access through scientific engagement with payers and stakeholders.

Build, lead, and develop a high-performing Medical Affairs team, including medical leaders and MSLs, fostering scientific excellence and collaboration. Partner closely with Global and Regional Medical Affairs, Clinical Development, and Evidence teams to ensure Brazilian insights inform global strategy. Oversee core medical activities like congresses, advisory boards, and publications.

Drive external medical and scientific thought leadership through partnerships with experts and scientific societies. Act as a senior medical and governance leader, partnering cross-functionally to ensure scientific integrity and compliance. Shape the future of vaccination in Brazil with strategic clarity and influencing capability.

Requirements

  • MD, PharmD, or PhD, with significant experience in the pharmaceutical industry (vaccines and/or specialty care)
  • Extensive leadership experience within Medical Affairs
  • Proven ability to lead complex medical strategies in highly regulated and evolving environments
  • Deep understanding of public and private access dynamics within the Brazilian healthcare system
  • Strong strategic thinking, influencing capability, and business acumen
  • Background in Cardiometabolic / CVMD (strong plus)
  • Prior experience in Vaccines (a differentiator, not a strict requirement)

  • Provide strategic medical leadership for public health and access pathways, including engagement with the National Immunization Program, HTA processes, and evidence generation
  • Support private market access and adoption strategies, shaping robust medical value narratives through scientific engagement with payers and stakeholders
  • Drive external medical and scientific thought leadership, advancing adult vaccination through partnerships with key experts and scientific societies
  • Partner closely with Global and Regional Medical Affairs, Clinical Development, and Evidence teams, ensuring Brazilian insights inform global strategy
  • Oversee the planning and execution of core medical activities, including congresses, advisory boards, scientific communications, and publications
  • Act as a senior medical and governance leader, partnering cross-functionally to ensure scientific integrity, compliance, and medical risk management
