About this role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Associate Scientist to join the Chemistry team at Iambic Therapeutics in San Diego. This laboratory-based position involves collaborating closely with medicinal chemists, biologists, DMPK scientists, computational chemists, machine learning researchers, and software engineers. Expertise in organic synthesis, catalysis, and medicinal chemistry is required, along with hands-on drug discovery experience and a “drug hunter” mindset.

Design, synthesize, purify, and characterize chemical compounds on 10 mg–5 g scale using LCMS, HPLC, NMR, and both individual and automated parallel synthesis. Identify and optimize reaction conditions using screening kits and streamlined methodologies. Collaborate with the high-throughput experimentation team for successful parallel chemistry execution.

Analyze biological and ADME-PK data using cheminformatics tools and contribute to data-driven discussions and strategic planning. Partner with computational chemists to leverage machine learning insights for efficient design–make–test cycles and platform development. Present results to project teams and senior leadership, communicating data, implications, and recommendations.

Thrive in a fast-paced, highly collaborative research environment onsite in San Diego. Join a clinical-stage company using an AI-driven platform to deliver drug candidates with unprecedented speed across target classes. Work with a world-class team of AI experts and drug hunters advancing best-in-class clinical assets.
