About this role
The International Medical Affairs (IMA) team represents the voice of International markets, focusing on top priority markets across pre-launch, launch, life-cycle management, and in-market activities. This Medical Affairs Director Neuroscience role provides aligned input from top priority markets into IEP. It drives implementation of scientific communications, medical education strategy, and relevant medical standards in these markets.
Support planning and execution of medical/scientific engagement strategy at International, including MSL/Field Medical Affairs strategy, medical education programs, scientific publication planning, and Medical Expert network development. Address strategic pre-launch and launch medical activities for patient, clinical, access, and value to health care systems. Act as subject matter expert in developing overarching strategies for International.
Provide inputs during design and end-to-end execution of programs. Serve as strategic partner to International Commercial, International Value & Access, Global, Regional, and US MA, and Development. Represent International Medical Affairs with internal and external audiences, including investment, medical, and regulatory communities.
Ensure financial tracking for timely, cost-effective medical activities. Drive compliance with company policy guidelines and highest medical quality standards. Support Patient Access programs and contribute to asset lifecycle management for new therapeutic opportunities.
Requirements
- Advanced scientific degree (MD, PhD, or PharmD) in Health or Life Sciences
- Minimum 8+ years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry
- Experience providing medical affairs strategy input from international markets
- Expertise in neuroscience therapeutic area
- Knowledge of scientific communications and medical education in pharma
- Familiarity with MSL/Field Medical Affairs strategies and medical expert networks
- Understanding of evidence generation, publication planning, and market access
Responsibilities
- Execute medical affairs launch strategy for Neuroscience programs in key International countries including transformation tactics such as innovative partnerships
- Partner with Medical Affairs organizations in key International countries and regions to ensure strong delivery focus on country needs
- Provide advisory to plans for evidence generation, MSL/Field Medical Affairs strategy, medical education programs, scientific publication planning and Medical Expert network development
- Provide input to and shape the development and implementation of innovative education and scientific communication plans for external stakeholders at International
- Represent International Medical Affairs around prioritized portfolio with internal and external audiences
- Provide direction and input into the development and implementation of successful reimbursement and market-access strategies
- Provide input to shape Field Medical Strategies, develop and execute Field Medical plans, ensure implementation of key Field Medical initiatives
- Ensure International Medical Affairs activities are designed and executed in compliance with company policy guidelines and highest medical quality standards
